Dave Povey invited Matthew Binns, Tom Blackman and Terry Hunefeld visited the Nine Mile Bank off San Diego.
Shearwaters:
10 dark shearwaters: 1 Flesh-footed, 4 Short-tailed, 2 Sooty and 3 Sooty/Short-tailed.
Black-venteds were elsewhere – we saw only two.
There were 16 Pink-footed Shearwaters, quite a bit more than we unusually see this time of year. 7 Northern Fulmar, 11 Red Phalarope, 3 Common Murre, 2 Cassin's Auklet and 8 Rhinoceros Auklets rounded out the seabird species.

Few sights are more inspiring than a veritable army of hundreds of Long-beaked Common Dolphins leaping all around the boat; we experienced that thrill today, literally surrounded by an enormous pod a mile in diameter.
