Mark J. Billings was a protégé of Guy McCaskie and Richard A. Erickson. He is a frequent contributor to the birding records contained in North American Birds.
Mark has the eyes of a hawk. He can see and identify seabirds far beyond the range of an ordinary human being. His hearing is that of legend. He has been known to hear a Mangrove Yellow Warblers calling from two city blocks away, in traffic, then find it. How does he do this? We do not know.
