Tom's interest in birding started in High School and continued through college earning a B.S. in Zoology. His business career was in Insurance, Risk Management and Structured Risk. Upon retirement Tom returned full time to birding/photography including volunteering for many regional surveys for the San Diego Natural History Museum, California State Parks as well as private biological firms. He is widely traveled birding in such locations as Finland, Africa, Madagascar, Peru, Argentina, Australia and other distant locales. His photographic work has been published in North American Birds, Western Birds and many regional publications. Currently serving as V.P. and Program Chair of San Diego Field Ornithologists Tom eagerly looks forward to sharing his knowledge of birds and photography with those on board. Tom's photo site.
