Reservations for all Buena Vista Audubon SeaBirding Charters aboard Grande are handled by Point Loma Sportfishing (the landing) at (619) 223-1627
AVAILABILITY: Check availability by calling the landing .
RESERVATIONS BY PHONE (Check or Credit Card): Telephone the landing seven days a week at (619) 223-1627 and tell them to wish to make a reservation for a birding trip on Grande and give them the date of departure.
PAY IN FULL: Some fishing trips allow fishermen to pay 50% at signup and the balance the day of the trip. All Buena Vista Audubon Trips require payment in full at the time of registration. Regardless of what the Landing's employee says, you must pay in full - even if the telephone rep gives you an option to pay 50%).
FUEL: Prices for this year's trips were calculated on fuel charges in the preceeding December. In the event that fuel increases substantially there may be a small surcharge when boarding the boat, not to exceed $10 per person on day trips or $20 per person on double-overnighters.
SEATING - Grande has a spacious salon/cabin/galley with plenty of comfortable "restaurant-booth" seating for meals, reading, resting socializing or napping. Seating is very limited on the spacious, stable aft deck, and, if you're local, you're strongly encouraged to bring a sturdy nylon outdoor folding chair aboard. If you prefer to be where the action is, outside on deck the entire day, 10 - 14 hours is a long time to be on your feet -- you'll appreciate a chair.
ITINERARY - Buena Vista Audubon bird trips aboard Grande are planned 6 to 10 months in advance. The itinerary posted in the original trip description is our best guess as to where we will look for birds, but is subject to change depending on a number of different factors: weather, sea conditions and/or bird populations. In the event that unusual or unanticipated species are seen or known about prior the trip, the itinerary will be altered in an effort to record the highest and most diverse species list for all participants.
