Ashy and Leach's Storm Petrels just inside the 30 Mile Bank. A few Rhino Auklets left.
Kelp Patties had loafing Common, Least and Elegant Terns. Elegant Terns. Pacific Loons and Red-necked Phalaropes were the most abundant bird species of the day. Xantus's and Cassin's seen.
On the Marine mammals front we had a Guadalupe Fur Seal at 15 miles. Only the third I've seen in San Diego waters. We also had a great show with a large pod of Bottle-nosed Dolphin. Two animals appeared to be "fighting" going nose to nose in a mid air ballet.

Departed Mission Bay 0530, heading n.w. to w of La Jolla then s.w. to the inside of the 30 Mile Bank near the 182 spot,, ran south along the ridge to the Mexican border, then n.east to the upper end of the Nine Mile Bank, and returned to Mission Bay at 1330.
Seas, 3-5 ft. swell, light beeze <5kts s.w., hazy visiblity +6 n.m,. bright sun. air temps in the 60s. sea surface temps 62 to 68 (warmest at south end of 30 mile).
