Jon Feenstra and Todd McGrath will lead the Febuary trip
The February 2011 Los Angeles Audubon Winter Pelagic Trip to the waters of the Santa Monica Bay and the Palos Verdes Peninsula off the coast of Los Angeles will see regular species like the abundant Black-vented Shearwater.  We will be searching for any other birds that may lie within their flocks.

This 8 hour trip departs from Ports of Call In San Pedro at 8:00 a.m. on the m/v Pacific Adventure.

The 2010 Trip was cancelled due to a winter storm.

2009 Trip Report

Species seen on prior trips include Manx Shearwater (28 Feb 2009), Northern Fulmar; Short-tailed Shearwater, Black-vented Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater and Pink-footed Shearwater; rocky shorebirds (5); Pomarine and Parasitic Jaegers; Xantus's Murrelet; Cassin's and Rhinoceros Auklets.  Occasionally we see Ancient Murrelet.... and, if we're lucky, a Manx Shearwater (seen on the 2009 trip).
